Free entry, All ages
Plants of the Pilbara is an immersive, 5-dimensional art installation by sculptor Carrissa Wu (aka Jotterbook Flowers) and perfumer-musician Ousogene Yeo. Viewers are invited to experience the magic of Western Australia’s native flora on a larger-than-life scale.
A clear dome structure spanning 3m tall and 5m in diameter will bring a cacophony of colour to the Red Earth Arts Festival, bursting at the seams with giant paper flowers handcrafted by Carrissa and the Jotterbook Flowers Team, spanning 1-2m wide.
As visitors enter the dome, they’ll feel as though they’ve been transformed into the size of a marbled gecko or a trapdoor spider, weaving their way through a magnified slice of desert with giant native sturt desert pea, mulla-mulla, bottlebrush and native hibiscus flowers dancing overhead.
