REAF 2019
6 - 22 September

The Red Earth Arts Festival is a highlight of the City of Karratha’s annual events calendar and this year’s program is crammed with events and workshops over three massive weekends!

The 2019 Red Earth Arts Festival is our tenth and I’m proud to say the festival has continued to evolve and grow to deliver more entertainment to our community over the past decade.

This is the second consecutive year the Red Earth Arts Festival has taken advantage of our award-winning Red Earth Arts Precinct, which has become a much-loved facility catering to our community’s strong appetite for live music, dance, theatre and film.

This year we're taking events to ovals in the suburbs, the Ganilili Centre in Roebourne, Point Samson and Dampier community halls, the Wickham Community Hub and Wickham Picture Gardens, Port Walcott Yacht Club, the Red Earth Arts Precinct and Cossack.

I encourage you to get involved and embrace all that is on offer – there is something for everyone in this comprehensive and inclusive program.

This year we have dramatically reduced our use of single-use plastics, following the introduction of the City’s Internal Strategy to Minimise the Use of Single Use Plastics in May. The City is working to replace disposal plastic products with reusable, biodegradable and compostable alternatives and I encourage you to consider ways to reduce your single-use plastic waste – we can all contribute to a positive change.

The Red Earth Arts Festival highlights the Council’s ongoing commitment to arts and culture in the City. Council acknowledges that arts and cultural experiences bring people together and enhance the liveability of our community. Our region is recognises as an artistic and creative hub and we are committed to nurturing the arts through major events such as the Red Earth Arts Festival.

Here's to another fun, family-friendly festival!
