Where Dance and Creativity Collide

PRESENTED BY WEST AUSTRALIAN BALLET AND THE KARRATHA YOUTH DANCE COLLECTIVE
 
In a dual showing, see two of West Australian Ballet’s world-class dancers perform alongside some of Karratha’s best young dancers at the Red Earth Arts Festival.
 
Celebrating their 70th year, see the dancers of your State Ballet Company in a beautiful duo from West Australian Ballet's acclaimed repertoire.  Plus, local talent will be on show as the Youth Dance Collective work in collaboration with West Australian Ballet’s Teaching Artists, to premiere a brand new work at the Festival!

Dance Workshop

SOUKOUSS INTERNATIONALE 
 
Join the members of Soukouss Internationale for an authentic, fun and energetic introduction to Congolese soukouss dance. Facilitators Quentin Thony (La Reunion), Cynthia Chumba (Kenya) and Florence Nyambura (Kenya) will lead participants through a simple and fun choreography suitable for all the family.  ‘Soukouss’, by the way, means ‘shake it’. It’s a bootyful thing.
