Nine years and still evolving. The Red Earth Arts Festival is back for 2018 and brings with it a diverse and jam-packed program of events and workshops – 11 massive events over 10 days!
This is the first time REAF will be able to take advantage of our brand new Red Earth Arts Precinct and a number of events will be held here to showcase the facility’s impressive amenities. We’ll also take REAF to the Ngurin Cultural Centre in Roebourne for an incredible performance of Tjaabi and Rambla Bar & Bistro in Wickham for a big night of laughs.
You may have noticed that we are holding the festival a little earlier than usual this year. This is to coincide with the Performing Arts Connections (PAC) Australia conference that will be held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct from 2-6 September.
This national conference will bring approximately 300 key decision-makers in the arts and cultural space to Karratha. Presenting our Red Earth Arts Festival while they are here with us is an incredible opportunity to showcase our community’s appetite for arts and culture experiences and the facilities we have in place to support this.
We expect the PAC Australia conference to help us put the Red Earth Arts Precinct on the map for touring theatre and performance companies and we cannot wait to welcome them to the City of Karratha. For more information about PAC Australia visit www.apaca.com.au.
It's incredible how every year so many local organisations come on board and help us deliver this festival. A big thank you to principal partner Rio Tinto and event sponsors, Pilbara Ports Authority, the State Government via Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions, Performing Arts Connections Australia, Kennards Hire, Cleanaway, Nielsen Liquid Waste Services, Karratha Signs and Pilbara Media.
Head out and enjoy our ninth annual Red Earth Arts Festival!
